Duplex stainless steel combines an approximately 50/50 balance of austenitic and ferritic microstructures, resulting in twice the mechanical yield strength of standard 300-series stainless steels alongside superb resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
Supplied in solution annealed and pickled condition, these duplex hex bars are the optimal material choice for demanding offshore, chemical processing, marine fasteners, and subsea hydraulic connections. The high chromium (22%), molybdenum (3%), and controlled nitrogen addition guarantee a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of ≥ 35.
