Hastelloy C276 provides outstanding resistance to wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite solutions, sulfuric acid, and chloride-induced pitting. Hastelloy C22 provides even superior resistance to oxidizing acid media (nitric, chromic) due to elevated 22% chromium. Hastelloy B2 is uniquely resistant to pure reducing hydrochloric acid across all concentrations and boiling temperatures.
