Duplex stainless steel round bars feature a balanced dual-phase metallurgical microstructure containing approximately equal amounts of austenite and ferrite, providing double the design yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steels.
The alloy provides exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, localized pitting, crevice attack, and erosion-corrosion. Its high mechanical strength allows significant wall thickness reduction in shafts, valves, and fasteners while maintaining high fatigue limits in marine and offshore operating environments.
We supply duplex round bars from 6 mm to 450 mm diameter in solution annealed and water quenched condition, tested for ferrite content (40–60%), impact toughness at -40°C, and 100% ultrasonic sound integrity.
